Our company’s foundation was laid in 1955 as Stark & Konkel Consulting Engineers in downtown Denver. The first years were challenging ones for the company while it endeavored to gain a foothold in the emerging Denver market.
In 1959, James H. Konkel opened his own office as the sole Principal. One year later, he was joined by James D. McFall as his first full-time employee, and by 1963, William R. Kimball joined the team, bringing the employee count to eight. The growth in the community bolstered business and in 1967 Jim McFall became a partner. The firm was known as McFall and Konkel Consulting Engineers.
The company continued to experience a healthy growth and was well established in the Denver market. By 1980, William R. Kimball became a partner of the firm, completing the troika—McFall, Konkel, and Kimball.
Today, the company is known as MKK Consulting Engineers, Inc. with its headquarters office in Greenwood Village, CO. It has grown to over 100 employees with branch offices in Cheyenne, WY and Billings, MT. During MKK’s 45+ years in the engineering design and consulting business, we have constantly challenged ourselves to be the best company in our field for the benefit of our clients and our employees.
