The City of Cheyenne was in need of a new facility to house several public safety services that could also be readily available to the surrounding community. The new Cheyenne Public Safety Center co-locates the Cheyenne Police Department with the Fire Administration, Laramie County Joint Communications Center, and the Laramie County Emergency Operation Center.

MKK designed the HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, lighting, fire alarm and security electronic systems for a Circuit Court and Clerk of Courts, County Attorney and satellite Sheriff’s Administration Office for Fremont County.
This two-story building consists of 46,000 square feet for a District Court and County Court, and Family Court Hearing Room. The building includes offices for District Attorney, County Attorney, Probation and Parole, County Manager Administrator and County Accounting departments.
This two-story Johnson County Jail and Sheriff’s building contains a administration, intake and booking on the first floor, and the county jail on the second floor. The new Rio Blanco Justice Center Complex will incorporate elements from both Meeker’s historic schoolhouse as well as the latest in security technology. This new justice facility consists of a 40,000 SF of single story 30-bed jail, sheriff’s offices, and two courtrooms. Specialty lighting design was curated for the courtrooms and main lobby and corridors.
Boulder County purchased an existing 76,900 SF, two-story building to accommodate the new Boulder County Sheriff’s Headquarters. The building was redesigned to meet the various needs of the department, including offices, large conference/training area, a workout room with locker area, forensics lab, armory, evidence processing rooms, evidence storage and a vehicle maintenance area.
The 42,000 SF Public Safety Center (PSC) building is home to the Dickinson Fire Department and will also provide additional space for Police dispatch, administration and training. The building will also serve as a training space for departments across the region. The center will also serve as a recruiting and retention showpiece for the community.
