City of Fort Collins Utility Administration Building
The City of Fort Collins Utility Administration building is a new 37,500 square foot office building located at the downtown civic campus. The building features the latest in technologies that focuses on energy and human comfort. The building is also provided with solar panels that provide 50-60% of the building’s electrical needs. The administration building achieved LEED v4 Platinum in June 2017 as one of the first Colorado LEED v4 platinum buildings.
MKK provided the mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design for the facility using an integrated design approach. The mechanical system includes a water source heat pump system with high efficiency heat pumps and condensing boilers. The mechanical system will be optimized in the future and connected to a community geothermal ground source system when the downtown civic campus is expanded. The facility is provided with natural daylighting, digital lighting controls, LED lighting, and advanced energy metering.
